Poppers are typically cast to surface feeding fish. These work well for Mahi Mahi around weed lines and floating debris. Kingfish are really fun to see hit poppers working across the surface. Here in Texas we have a tuna fishery that involves casting poppers to surface cruising and feeding tuna under the lights of deep water oil platforms and semi-submersibles. For tuna fishing I recommend changing split rings and hooks.
